The Southern Nevada Chapter offers the following workplace training courses:

Adult CPR/AED (4.5 hours)
Hands-on skills training for adult CPR and automatic external defibrillator (AED) prepares participants to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies.

AED Essentials (2 hours)
Individuals currently certified in Adult CPR learn how to safely use an AED to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

Adult/Infant/Child CPR (6.5 hours)
In this course, participants will learn how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies affecting adults, children and infants.

  The Southern Nevada Chapter offers the following workplace training courses:

First Aid Basics (4 hours)
This half-day course focuses on first aid skills for a variety of injuries and illnesses including caring for wounds, bites, burns, heat and cold emergencies, seizures and shock.

Standard First Aid (5.5 hours)
During the course students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until professional medical personnel arrive and treat the injuries. Standard First Aid is also available in a 6.5 hour course with AED training included.

Community First Aid and Safety (8 hours)
Participants will learn how to recognize and care for a variety of health-related emergencies involving breathing and the heart as well as various injuries to the body including broken bones, poisonings, overexposure to heat and cold, bruises, cuts and bleeding. The course also covers injury prevention and how to prevent disease transmission. 

Injury Control Modules (1 hour each)
These one-hour modules highlight risks and promote prevention by focusing on common causes of worksite injuries and major health risks. Demonstrations and discussions reinforce practical prevention tips. During the courses, employees take self-assessments to raise awareness about risky behaviors. Modules include: Ergonomics; Slips, Trips and Falls; Back Injury Prevention; Workplace Violence Awareness; Managing Stress; and Your Heart Matters.

Preventing Disease Transmission: OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogen Training (2 hours)
A training module for employers and employees who, while on the job, may be exposed to blood or other body fluids that could cause infection. Employers can offer this program to fulfill OSHA compliance requirements. Available in English and Spanish.

Oxygen Administration (2 hours)

Laypersons can learn when and how to use supplemental oxygen and breathing devices. Professional rescuers can get advanced training in airway management.

First Aid — When Help is Delayed (2 hours)
This first aid course helps people prepare for and respond to an emergency when an EMS response could take 30 minutes or more. (Prerequisite: Standard First Aid)
