Your Red Cross Journey Starts Here...
Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Red Cross team! The process to become a volunteer with the Southern Nevada Chapter is now underway.
The Volunteer Placement Team is here to help you be fully engaged. The action steps listed below will help you stay on track so you don't miss a beat in your Red Cross journey.
-
Complete and submit an application, complete the online Volunteer Orientation and Background Check
-
Schedule and attend an interview
-
Complete and return the Driving Application Packet (if applicable)
-
-
Register for a CPR class. It's not required but we do highly recommend all Red Crossers be trained. Volunteers and their immediate family can take most CPR courses for $20. Call the front desk to register at 702-791-3311
Once these steps have been completed you will be referred to the appropriate department to begin your volunteer service. You will receive an email notification from the Volunteer Placement Team when this occurs. Within 2-3 days you should receive an email or phone call from the department to set up a schedule and training.
Your new supervisor will:
-
Provide you with a job description for review and signature
-
Assist you in obtaining a photo ID badge
-
Arrange for training (on the job, online or in classroom)
-
Provide a brief office orientation including a tour and an introduction to other staff members
-
Explain how to record your volunteer hours
-
If needed, request computer network access, alarm code and key
One last step...Follow Up: After you begin your volunteer service, The Volunteer Placement Team will contact you to conduct a brief follow-up interview. If you have any needs, concerns or positive feedback, please share. If for some reason you choose to stop volunteering, please let your Supervisor or the Volunteer Placement Team know immediately!
