RECEPTIONIST 

The American Red Cross, Southern Nevada Chapter is hiring for the part time position of afternoon Receptionist. 

 

 

Salary: $10/hr with benefits including medical, dental and 401(k) available.

 

 

Schedule:  Mon - Friday 8:30am - 12:30pm (Some occasional afternoon shifts may be required)

Hiring Timline:

    JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    POSITION:                   Receptionist / Customer Service Representative

                                       Part Time Non-Exempt/Hourly

                                       Morning Shift: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.                                   

     

    REPORTS TO:              Volunteer / Administration Manager

     

     

    DIRECT REPORTS:      Front Desk Volunteers

     

     

    SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

     

    Under the direct supervision of the Volunteer / Administration Manager, the Receptionist handles the Chapter switchboard, greets and directs visitors, performs a variety of customer service functions.  Performs other administrative projects and clerical duties as assigned to support the chapter.

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

     

    EDUCATION: Any combination of training, education and work experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree.  Minimum high school diploma.

     

     

    EXPERIENCE:   A minimum of two years of successful professional experience in a receptionist, clerical or administrative support position.  Experience managing a front desk or switchboard preferred. Prior experience in a not-for-profit organization helpful. 

     

     

    SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  Strong customer service skills and a commitment to quality service delivery; intermediate MS Office Skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong analytical skills, highly organized with the ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to work with diverse members of the public, paid staff and volunteers. Must be able to successful pass a criminal background check and posses a valid Nevada driver’s license and proof of insurance.  Ability to lift 50 lbs and work with cleaning products such as bleach required.

     

     

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:

     

    1.    Handle phone switchboard and greet / direct visitors.

     

    2.    Process donations and execute revenue transactions

     

    3.    Coordinate front desk activities including supervision of Front Desk Volunteers.

     

    4.    Provide administrative support to departments including data entry, filing or other clerical tasks.

     

    5.    Other duties as needed and/or assigned.

     

     

     

    PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

     

    1. Handle phone switchboard and greet / direct visitors

     

    ·         Clients, customers and visitors to the chapter are promptly greeted and provided courteous and efficient service. 

     

    ·         Incoming phone calls are promptly answered and routed to the appropriate staff member. 

     

    ·         Client and customer issues are escalated to the appropriate manager for resolution.

     

    ·         Be prepared to scale up operations for disaster response or high visibility events.

     

     

    2.  Process donations and execute revenue transactions.

     

    ·         Manual credit card donations are processed same day according to chapter process standards.

     

    ·         Sales or other revenue transactions are processed same day according to chapter process and standards.

     

     

    3.  Coordinate front desk activities including supervision of Front Desk Volunteers.

     

    ·         Front Desk Manual is maintained and provided to new volunteers and staff.

     

    ·         New volunteers are training and proficient within one month.  Volunteers are supervised to ensure performance standards are met and updates regarding policies and procedures are provided on a timely basis.

     

    ·         The kitchen and front desk area are cleaned daily.

     

    ·         The Receptionist Checklist is completed successfully each day.

     

     

     

    4.  Provide administrative support to departments including data entry, filing, and other clerical tasks. 

     

    ·         Data entry projects are completed with 95% accuracy

     

    ·         Clerical projects assigned by Volunteer / Administration Manager are completed correctly by established due dates.

     

    ·         Files are adequately maintained and filing is completed on a daily basis.

     

     

    5.  Other duties as needed or assigned.
