Thank you for your interest in partnering with the American Red Cross.

When a disaster strikes, the American Red Cross provides shelter, food, and health and mental health services -- helping individuals and families resume their normal daily activities.

Partnering with a well-known brand, such as the American Red Cross, connects your group, company or agency to an organization that people all over the world trust to help save lives, be there in times of disaster and to increase their personal safety and security within their community.

There are several ways to partner with the American Red Cross.

Be a Shelter

In times of disaster, Red Cross partners with local churches, governments, and civic organizations to use their facilities for shelters to give displaced people a safe, sanitary and secure place to live short-term as they begin their recovery. Generally, 96% of shelters close within 96 hours. There are three basic operational models depending on how involved you and your organization wish to become in the actual operation of the shelter. Ideal locations would include open spaces (like gyms or multi-purpose rooms) for sleeping, showers, toilet facilities, kitchen or food service areas, and ADA compliant access. However, we can set up in less than ideal locations and make accommodations as necessary.

Be a Red Cross Warehouse

In major disasters, Red Cross utilizes donated warehouse space to temporarily store relief supplies. Typically we seek out a single floor facility with loading dock(s) and 6,000 - 10,000+/- square feet. Depending on the size of the relief operation we may need less or more square footage. We only use the space during actual disaster relief operations.

Email us if you have warehouse space that can be donated for use in major disasters.

Be a Red Cross Disaster Operation Headquarters

In major disasters, Red Cross utilizes donated floor space to temporarily establish a relief operation headquarters to coordinate the entire Red Cross response. Buildings such as large empty grocery store buildings, store fronts, or unoccupied office complexes often serve well for this purpose.

Email us if you have open space that can be donated for use as a relief operation headquarters.

"Power of Two" - Public Relations

The Power of Two program is a partnership between the Public Relations Society of America and the American Red Cross. It provides a way for public relations experts to become involved in the Red Cross mission to provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.  PRSA members are serving their communities as media spokespersons, communication strategists, writers and more.

Clothing Packs

Many house fires leave people without clothing; sometimes without anything to wear at the immediate moment. We distribute clothing packs on the scene to those needing immediate clothing.

A clothing pack consists of the following:

  • Sweatshirt and sweat pant (for winter use) or

  • T-Shirt and short with elastic waistband (for summer use)

You can collect clothing pack items or donate $15 for us to purchase one on your behalf.

If collected, items must be…

  • New - No used items accepted

  • Plain - No logos, writing, or printing
  • Any size - adult S - 4XL
  • Top and Bottom needs to be same size

A donor acknowledgement card can be inserted into the clothing pack if requested.
