Exercise - Tabletop 'Extreme'

Representatives from the American Red Cross, Southern Nevada Health District, Las Vegas Metro Police Volunteers, and Clark County Office of Emergency Management gathered Saturday and Sunday (June 28th & 29th) to participate in a Red Cross Disaster Relief Operation Leadership Development Training course. Leadership activities and lecturettes were included in the two-day extensive tabletop. Participants served as leadership staff of an 8 day relief operation. Teams had to develop a plan to deliver services to those affected by the disaster, manage limited resources, request outside assistance, and track the benefits and consequences of their operational decisions. Participants managed staff and facilities to provide assistance to those affected.

Those in attendance also became familiar with the various Red Cross response groups and activities, interdependency of each response position, and explored personal leadership traits/styles.
