| Chapter Response to Disaster |
This course will orient disaster service volunteers to the chapter's initial response mechanisms. You will learn the skill and tools needed to effectively respond to single family emergencies and initiate response on larger events.

| Client Casework: Providing Emergency Assistance |
Training for Individual Client Services caseworkers. Learn how to conduct effective client interviews and provide appropriate assistance to help meet a client's immediate disaster-caused or disaster-aggravated needs. |
| Collaborating to Ensure Effective Service Delivery |
Participants in this course will gain a practical understanding of what a liaison is and what a liaison does. They will learn how to establish collaborative relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders that contribute to coordinated disaster response and help to ensure effective service delivery in a manner that yields comunity trust in, appreciation for and goodwill toward the American Red Cross. |
| Disaster Assessment Basics |
This course provides a general overview of the tasks and responsibilities of the Disaster Assessment activity on a disaster relief operation. Participants will learn the importance of completing a disaster assessment as it pertains to local disaster incidents. |
| Emergency Operations Center |
Government and emergency management settings are specialized environments where critical operational decisions that support a disaster response are made. This course will prepare Red Cross employees and volunteers who will be assigned to government and emergency settings to work collaboratively with Red Cross partners, helping to ensure a coordinated response that results in effective service delivery. |
| ERVs: Ready, Set, Roll |
This course prepares employees and volunteers to operate an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) and related equipment safely and effectively in order to meet the service needs of people affected by disaster. |

This course introduces participants to the foundation of service delivery standards for the American Red Cross by presenging the Fundamental Principles and Values of the Red Cross and how they apply throughout the disaster cylce of prepare, respone, and recover. |
| Fundamentals of Disaster Public Affairs: The Local Response |
This course introduces Red Cross communicators to the cricial tasks necessary to initiate a chapter disaster public affairs response. It provides an overview of the American Red Cross Disaster Public Affairs structure and prepares participants to effectively respond to local media inquries and to proactively present Red Cross messaging.
Note: Prior to attending this class, you will be asked to complete an online prerequisite course titled Disaster Public Affairs Overview. Information to the online course will be emailed to you upon enrollment. |
| Fundamentals of Disaster Public Affairs: The National Response |
This course introduces Red Cross communicators to the cricial tasks necessary to initiate a national disaster public affairs response. It is designed for those individuals who will serve as Supervisors or Managers in the Public Affairs activity on a national disaster relief operation.
Note: Prior to attending this class, participants should first enroll in Fundamental of Disaster Public Affairs: The Local Response. |
| Health Services Response Workshop |
Designed for licensed health professionals, this course gives an overview of the roles and responsibilities of a Disaster Health Services volunteer when working on behalf of the American Red Cross to meet the disaster-related health needs of clients. Participants will learn how to apply their professional knowledge, experience, and critical thinking abilities to the work-related challenges experienced by Red Cross workers who provide immediate assistance to clients int he aftermaht of a disaster. |
| Logistics Overview |
This course provides basic information about the processes of Material Support Services activities in support of an American Red Cross disaster relief operation. Participants will learn about the skills, abilities and knowledge needed by Material Support Services workers and how they can become involved in their local chapter. |
| Logistics Simulation |
Building on the information presented in the Logistics Overview class, this simulation provides participants an opportunity to practice the skills and knowledge needed to run a successful logistical operation in our chapter. |
| Mass Care Overview |
This course provides an overview of the activities performed by Red Cross Mass Care workers in support of a disaster relief operation. |
| Mass Casualty Disasters |
This course prepares Red Cross employees and volunteers to provide a more effective initial response to a mass casualty disaster. Using real-world examples, participants explore the four types of mass casualty disasters and the planning and response role of the American Red Cross as part of an overall community response. Included is a simlation of a mass casualty event where participants form teams, representing a Red Cross chapter, and must make decisions during the first 24 hours following the disaster event. |
| Shelter Operations |
This course gives participants an overview of the American Red Cross policies and procedures for setting up, running and closing a shelter during a disaster. Its purpose is to prepare employees and volunteers of the Red Cross and other agencies to manage shelter operations effectively and sensitively as a team while meeting the needs of people displaced as a result of a disaster. |

Buidling on the information presented in the Shelter Operations class, this simulation provides participants an opportunity to practice working with procedures for setting up, running, and closing a shelter duirng a disaster. |
